2 Mixing bowl
1 Whisk or spoon
4 Measuring cups/spoons
1 Non-stick pan / tawa
1 Ladle
1 Spatula
- 1 cup Whole wheat flour Atta / Maida (all-purpose flour)
- 3/4 cup Milk
- 2 tbsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 1/4 tsp Cardamom powder
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1 tbsp Butter / Oil / Ghee for cooking
- 4 tbsp Water as needed
- 4 strawberries sliced
- 2 tbsp Honey
In a large mixing bowl, add atta or maida, sugar, baking powder, cardamom powder, and a pinch of salt. Mix the dry ingredients well so everything is evenly combined.
Slowly pour in the milk while whisking continuously to avoid lumps. Keep mixing until you get a smooth, lump-free batter.
If the batter feels too thick, add a little water (1–2 tablespoons at a time) to achieve a slightly thick but pourable consistency.
Let the batter rest for about 5–10 minutes. This helps the flour absorb the liquid properly and improves the texture of the pancakes.
Heat a non-stick pan or tawa on medium flame. Once hot, lightly grease it with butter, oil, or ghee.
Pour a ladleful of batter onto the pan and let it spread naturally into a round shape. Do not spread it too much.
Cook on medium-low heat until small bubbles start appearing on the surface and the edges begin to set.
Gently flip the pancake using a spatula and cook the other side until it turns golden.
Remove from the pan and place on a plate. Repeat the process with the remaining batter, greasing the pan lightly if needed.
Stack the pancakes and serve warm with fresh strawberries on top and a generous drizzle of honey.
- Batter for pancakes should be slightly thick but pourable.
- Resting the batter helps improve texture.
- Use ghee for a richer Indian flavor.
- Adjust sweetness as per taste.
- You can add fruits or chocolate chips to the batter for variation.
